To address this, we decided to update some pages to hopefully make navigating the site a bit easier and give it an overdue refresher. Look Beyond Your Servers When Measuring Your Data Center’s Power Usage
RJ Tee
February 18, 2015
When it comes to measuring your data center’s power usage, your servers are a great place to start. After all, servers typically comprise the bulk of electricity consumption in a facility, with each one consuming between 400 and 500 watts on average. It’s important to realize, however, that servers are only part of the equation when analyzing your data center’s overall power consumption. If you want to assess your facility’s true carbon footprint and reduce as many expenses as possible, it’s also critical to analyze every system that taps into your uninterruptible power supply.

CAUTION: Your data is trying to warn you!

February 18, 2015
Uptime should be a primary focus of your data center. If your business-critical servers aren’t functioning, your bottom line will be directly affected. That is, your customer-facing application is only as strong as the network infrastructure that powers it.

Smoke Signals

Humans have always had an inherent desire to communicate. I think whether we realize it or not, our species has flourished because of the technology enhancements that have allowed us to speed up and improve our communication capability. Everything of what we see and use today is simply an upgrade of something that was there before. I think we can go back pretty far and compare communication technology of today with communication technology of yesterday. And I'm talking way back.

Every Strong Customer Application Is Backed by a Healthy Server
Josh Schaap
February 04, 2015
Your customer has been trying to get your application to work for about 10 minutes. But the application just won’t load since your main server is experiencing power-related downtime. As a result, the customer can’t complete his or her order. What will your customer do as a result of your application downtime? Chances are likely that he or she will seek out a competitor that can provide a working application. This means your company will lose out on this business transaction, and potentially the customer’s trust in your company.

Server Technology Brings Back the 80s
RJ Tee
February 02, 2015
On Friday the Server Technology employees dressed up in 80’s gear and donated $2,100 for a local family in need. Server Technology has a small team of people who get together on a monthly basis to discuss our Northern Nevada community and determine the on-going fundraising activities we should conduct here at Server Technology. It is important to all of us to give back to this great community we live in. Wishing you a great day.

Many feel that they are fighting a losing battle against this slew of challenges.
