Server Technology Switched POPS (Per Outlet Power Sensing) rack PDU(s) feature highly accurate, outlet-level power measurements and control for rack-level monitoring along with controlled on/off or rebooting of outlets individually or as a group. They enable authorized users to power cycle devices remotely in a specific order, offer power sequencing delays to minimize inrush currents, and prevent unauthorized device provisioning. Switched PDUs feature Smart PDU abilities for network access to power, PDU status, and environmental information, and give outlet control for the reboot of locked-up devices as well as power-up sequencing.
With POPS, you can see measurements for load (in amps), voltage (V), active power (W), apparent power (VA), crest factor, power factor, and power consumption (measured in W-hrs). With Switched technology, outlets may be linked to one or multiple groups while maintaining control of that individual outlet.
Server Technology Switched POPS PDUs can be purchased with our award-winning HDOT (High Density Outlet Technology), Cx outlets, and Alternating Phase outlet technology. With HDOT, you get the highest outlet count in the most compact form factor of any PDU on the market. The Cx outlet is a UL tested hybrid of IEC C13 and C19 outlets that accommodate both C20 and C14 plugs. Alternating phase outlets alternate the phased power on a per-outlet basis rather than a per-branch basis. This design allows for shorter cords, faster installation, and easier load balancing for 3-phase rack mount PDUs.
