KVM/CONSOLE/SERIAL SUPPORT

Connection to a Power CIM peer is through an external USB dongle (DSER-PWR-USB-G4 or DKX3-PWR-USB-G4) and the USB-A port.
USB-B is available for direct CLI connection. For Serial/CLI applications over RJ45, an external DSER-CLI-USB-G4 dongle is needed.


POWER SHARING

Using the PDU Link Port with a standard Cat5 connection, the Controller provides active redundant power to a second like-designed and versioned PDU controller, maintaining sensor connection and network visibility in case of an outage on the PDU infeed.


PDU LINKING

Link up to 8 PDUs where the Primary PDU has knowledge and power information from the attached Expansion PDUs. Redundant power from the first expansion unit ensures uptime even if the Primary PDU loses power.


CASCADING

Physically cascade 32 PDUs under one ethernet port or 16 PDUs with USB using bridging mode, or additionally, save IP addresses using a single IP address with port forwarding.


WI-FI SUPPORT

Supported through the external DX2-WIFI-KIT, a USB Wi-Fi antenna that connects a USB-A port to a Wi-Fi network.

USB INTERFACE

PDU to PDU cascading up to 32 devices, bulk configuration, webcams, console serial connection, and mobile interface support on tablets or smartphones.


SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

Settings updates, bulk configuration, backup/restore, and firmware updates.
Local Connection: USB flash drive, Console Port (via USB port), PDView App.
Remote Management: TFTP Server, SSH / Command Line Interface (CLI), Web User Interface (HTTPS).


ENVIRONMENTAL SENSORS

Compatible with the Sensor Port, the plug-and-play sensor bus allows up to 32 sensor packages to attach to each PDU.

SmartSensors supported: Temperature, humidity, airflow, differential air pressure, water/leaks, dust/particles, contact closures, dry contacts, proximity/motion, and vibration. Sensor hubs are also supported. (Accessories are sold separately.)

ASSET MANAGEMENT

Compatible with the Sensor Port, when equipped with the optional Intelligent Asset Management sensor, automate a real-time inventory of IT assets and their locations, down to the 1U level.

RACK ACCESS CONTROL

Compatible with the Sensor Port, when cabinets and enclosures are equipped with optional intelligent door locks, handles, and card readers. Compatible with access control and DCIM solutions.

POWER QUALITY METRICS

Automate intelligent PDU functions with Redfish® RESTful APIs, JSON-RPC, and LUA scripting. SDKs are available in Perl, Python, JavaScript, and Curl.


SECURITY

Configurable firewall (in/outbound traffic control).

Granular user/user group permissions.

Configurable strong passwords allow defining a minimal requirement for password length and complexity; a limited password history prevents reusing passwords, and password expiration ensures passwords are refreshed periodically.

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP and LDAPS), Secure Boot, TACACS+ 1.2, Active Directory ®, Remote Access Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol, or local credential database.

Custom SSL certificates: CA certificates using RSA or ECDSA keys are supported.


ENCRYPTION

HTTPS connections use TLS 1.2/1.3 with AES 128/256-bit ciphers supporting the widest range of browsers.

SNMP v3 connections can be authenticated with MD5/SHA1/SHA-224/SHA-256/SHA-384/SHA-512 and encrypted with DES/AES-128/AES-192/AES-256.

Configurable power sequencing with customizable delays.
PDU-based load shedding.
Last known state power-on.
Remote outlet and outlet group on/off (available across linked PDUs).
Keep outlets switched off to prevent unauthorized access and avoid tripped circuit breakers. Use remote power switching to reboot hung servers or provision outlets for new devices without ever having to set foot in the facility.


OUTLET INDICATORS

Units include a red, green, amber, white, and black LED which is connected to the outlet state.
The indicators show the following conditions: outlet on/off, outlet's power above/below a threshold, circuit breaker is on/off, circuit breaker above/below a threshold, and the suspect outlet that tripped the circuit breaker.


OUTLET POWER DISTRIBUTION

Alternating Phase Power Distribution is standard (on most models) and evenly distributes multiple phases of power to each outlet for simplified load balancing, reduced cord lengths, and better airflow.
