Q: What is the default username and password for the PRO4X?
A: User Name: admin
Password: legrand -
Q: What are the differences between Server Technology PDU families?
A: See the family feature comparison chart -
Q: Will the older generation PRO 1/2 rack PDUs continue being supported?
A: Yes. We will continue sales of PRO 1/2 products until 2026 with FW Support through 2028. -
Q: How do I link the PRO4X PDUs?
A: Daisy chain up to 16 PDUs from a Primary PDU using a USB or Ethernet connection through a single IP address. -
Q: Can I link the PRO4X with PRO3X or PRO2X models?
A: All devices in the chain should be the same models and must be running the same firmware version. -
Q: Where can I find the MIB?
A: PRO4X Downloads Page -
Q: Where can I find firmware updates?
A: PRO4X Downloads Page -
Q: How do I manually reset my Rack PDU back to factory defaults?
A: With the known admin password, Web UI > Maintenance > Unit Reset > Reset to Factory Defaults or CLI command reset factorydefaults
If the admin password is unknown, use the username factorydefaults at the local console of the PDU. -
Q: Is the firmware backward compatible with the previous generation of Server Technology PDUs?
A: PRO4X firmware is not compatible with the previous generation due to differences in architecture. -
Q: What happens to communication if power is lost to the Primary PRO4X?
A: PRO4X controller has a PDU Link port that also provides power sharing. Downstream PDUs using the Link port for cascading will get power redundancy through this port. If the source power to the PDU is lost, the controller will remain powered on to send configured notifications. -
Q: Are there alerts when breaker/fuse branch circuit protection trips?
A: PRO4X controller will display a visual and sonic alarm when the breaker trips and the branch-associated outlets will flash multi-color. These alarms are also logged in the PDU event log and sent via SNMP traps and SMTP notifications when configured in the PDU Event Rule setting. -
Q: What is the operating temperature rating?
A: The PRO4X has been tested and approved for safe and reliable operation in 60°C (140°F) environments. -
Q: Can I leverage third-party management software to manage the data collected by the PRO4X PDUs?
A: The PRO4X is built on the Xerus Technology Platform, Intelligent PDUs provide an open API that interoperates with third-party software such as DCIM or BMS. -
Q: What does a “true hot-swappable" iX controller mean?
A: The iX Controller is hot-swappable:- It's interchangeable between like models.
- It can be purchased independently, does not require any special programming, and can be stocked as spares.
- It enables "live replacement" with no power interruption to connected equipment.
- The PDU does not need to shut down or restarted for the controller to be swapped in/out.
- The outlet states don't change when a card is swapped.
- The new controller will reprogram itself once seated using data stored "inside" the PDU chassis.
-
Q: What sensors and accessories are compatible with the PRO4x's Sensor port?
A: The PRO4X supports daisy-chained DX2-series Legrand SmartSensors, each with the ability to send SNMP-based alerts and email notifications.Environmental Monitoring Sensors DX2-T1, DX2-T1H1, DX2-T2H2, DX2-T3H1, DX2-AF1, DX2-T1DP1, DX2-PS Water Detection Sensors DX2-WSF-35-KIT, DX2-WSF-70-KIT, DX2-WSF-100-KIT, DX2-WSC-35-KIT, DX2-WSC-70-KIT, DX2-WSC-100-KIT Physical Access & Security Sensors DX2-D2, DX2-PD2C5, DX2-D2C6, DX2-CC2 Specialized Sensors DX2-PIR, DX2-VBR Sensor Hubs & Accessories DX2-ENVHUB4 -
Q: Does the PRO4X support KVM remote power control?
A: The PRO4X does not have a feature port, so the connection to a Power CIM peer can be achieved through a USB dongle (DSER-PWR-USB-G4 and DKX3-PWR-USB-G4) and the USB-A port. You can use the SNMP protocol to communicate with Raritan KVM or serial devices. Note: Power CIM peer stands for either a Raritan KVM switch (KX2, KX3 via D2CIM-PWR) or a Raritan serial switch (SX, KSX2).
