PCB Designer

Reports to: Engineering Manager
Department:  Engineering – New Product Development

Job Summary

Under general direction of the Engineering Manager, the PCB Designer will design and draft layout for printed circuit boards (PCBs).  This position ensures that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals.
 
The PCB Designer, as with all members of the Server Technology Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.
Essential Job Functions
1. Review and analyze engineering design schematics and supporting documents to plan layout of PCB components and printed circuitry.
2. Confer with engineering staff to resolve design details and problems.
3. Examine and verify master layout for electrical and mechanical accuracy.
4. Prepare electronic files for use in PCB fabrication, including schematic, bill of materials, assembly drawing, and gerber.
5. Perform computer based schematic capture and printed circuit board layout from engineering drawings and design notes.
6. Develop component schematic symbols and PCB footprints to be used in new circuit designs.
7. Coordinate with electrical and mechanical designers to develop complex PCB designs and facilitate electro-mechanical integration of these PCB’s into new and existing products.
8. Implement designs in accordance with standard engineering design practices and documentation procedures.
9. Develop analog, digital, and high voltage PCB assemblies in various combinations.
10. Follow all safety and EMC standards and guidelines in developing new circuit designs.
11. Ability to work with version control and product lifecycle systems in controlling new PCB
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE
1. A minimum of 2 years multi-layer circuit board layout experience including bill of materials creation for PCA’s.
2. Demonstrated ability to specify fabrication requirements for printed circuit boards (i.e. gerber) and strong familiarity with electrical components including their identifications and their markings.
3. Altium Designer experience and multi-layer mixed signal PCB design experience preferred (analog, digital, and high voltage).  PCB fabrication process knowledge a plus.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
5. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
6. Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
7.  Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.

Product Specialist

Reports to: Product Manager
Department: Product Management

Job Summary

Under general direction of the Product Manager, the Product Specialist will play a key support role in the process of releasing new products to the production and sales departments.  This position ensures that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. The Product Specialist, as with all members of the Server Technology Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions
1. Participate in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
2. Coordinate technical product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production.
3. Manage day-to-day progress of new product development.
  ·  Maintain technical data on Company website and test website when new functionality is added.
  ·  Create and update Product Data Sheets.
4. Create and update part numbers in Customer Relations Management database.
5. Administer expedited part number creation and release (Hot Shot process).
6. Administer Functional Wiring Diagram and Dimensional Drawing process.
7. Respond to 3D CAD model requests.
8. Provide technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development.
9. Conduct marketing analysis to develop product definitions. 
10. Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
11. Assist with market research and identify/track market trends in Company's industry.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical  / Professional Knowledge 
1. Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
3. Proficient understanding of project management principles and ability to read and interpret technical information.
4. Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
5. Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook), Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator; Visio and Publisher a plus.
6. Experience utilizing 3D modeling software such as Solidworks, ProE, or Inventor a plus.
7. Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.

Regional Sales Manager Southern California and Southern Nevada

Duties Include
1. Manage existing Enterprise, SMB, Government and Education customers
2. Identify and develop new channel sales partners
3. Develop new Enterprise SMB, Government and Education customers through prospecting activities
4. Represent STI at regional trade shows and other marketing functions
5. Solidify STI’s presence in the local marketplace through consistent participation in networking organizations and events.
6. This position will be responsible for Southern California and Southern Nevada. RSM can be located in Los Angeles or Orange County.

Skills and Abilities
1. Bachelor's Degree.
2. Proven track record of achieving sales objectives in a team environment.
3. A combination of Account Management and Account Development skills are required with a proven track record of success.
4. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of different sales methodologies and will be able to learn the methods employed by Server Technology and apply them to their selling activities. This approach will rely heavily on the candidate’s ability to identify specific customer needs.
5. The candidate will work in a team environment with Inside Sales to coordinate efforts and support for enterprise customer and reseller channels.

Product Quality Engineer

Skills and Abilities
Must have effective problem solving skills, be self-directed, and be able to maintain positive working relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to investigate and mediate technical issues. In depth knowledge of quality principles, techniques and methods; FMEA, SPC, 8D, CoQ, DOE, GR&R, GD&T, etc. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Electrical Engineering or related field. Thorough understanding of the application of J-STD-00 and IPC A-610D. ASQ, CQE, Six Sigma certification or significant experience with Six Sigma process improvement desirable. Ability to quickly grasp and implement new ideas, concepts and programs to improve products and processes.

Minimum Experience
years minimum experience in electronics manufacturing in a quality assurance and manufacturing or supplier environment.  Strong verbal and written English communication skills required. Proficient in standard business related computer software such as Microsoft Office.

Duties Include
1. Must be able to field technical questions from suppliers and determine the appropriate action to be taken.
2. Manage internal quality issues by determining Root Cause and providing Corrective Action.
3. Analyze, audit, and report quality performance and trends for product and processes.
4. Manage quality issues and systems at the supplier and contract manufacturer level.
5. Responsibility for audit, qualification and approval of new suppliers.
6. Review and define CTQ processes and inspection plans with suppliers.
7. Work with suppliers on Corrective and Preventative Action Report Resolution.
8. Provide Quality requirements input to Design and Manufacturing
9. Provide technical direction.
10. Evaluation and disposition of First Articles.
11. Ability to travel domestically and abroad 25-50% of the time.
12. Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes and associated tooling.
13. PCBA manufacturing experience including SMT pick and place and wave solder.
14. Experience with wire harness manufacturing and termination assembly.
15. Analyze engineering changes to determine impact to supplier processes and tooling.
16. Support supplier to develop and implement optimal, cost effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product design specifications and quality standards.

ERP Developer

1. Work with business users to understand their business requirements and develop software customizations to address these requirements.
2. Troubleshoot, support and maintain STI business software primarily the ERP software, middleware and integrated software products (including PLM and CRM systems).
3. Stay current with new software product developments. 
4. Coordinate with business users to test software upgrades, new releases and patches as they are provided by application software vendors.
5. Develop an expertise and be a resource to management for developing new reports, queries and dashboards. 
6. Ensure business users are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
7. Develop project design documentation.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equal experience in this area.
2. Experience with ERP software, Salesforce CRM administration and development. Knowledge of and experience with SharePoint; MS SQL Server, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Reporting Services; VB/C#; .Net; HTML; Javascript; JQuery; Salesforce Apex and Visualforce experience a plus
3. Ability to translate business problems into software solutions.
4. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with internal customers and all departments.
5. Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple priorities to deadlines.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Some of the duties will include:
1. PCB Design with voltage/current analog sensors in addition to microprocessor controlled digital circuits
2. Power distribution and switching design (AC/DC 400V, 100A)

5. Working on multiple projects with fluctuating deadlines and priorities

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or MSEE
2. 5+ years in similar industry experience required
3. Project Management experience
4. Microcontroller design experience
5. Electrical safety as well as EMI/EMC experience
6. Signal Integrity experience
7. High density product packaging design experience a plus
