Nine companies out of 56 finalists can boast bragging rights for employee satisfaction
(Reno, NV), May 1, 2009 – Server Technology, the industry leader for Power Distribution Unit and Management Solutions, announced today that it was a winner in the “Greater Reno-Tahoe Best Places to Work” awards. Three companies received honors in each category of small, medium and large employer, at the second annual “Greater Reno-Tahoe Best Places to Work” awards.
The nine company winners were determined solely on the overall scores from confidential on-line employee satisfaction surveys. The surveys focused on ten criteria based on a satisfying working environment including: team effectiveness, trust with co-workers, manager effectiveness, feeling values and people practices, among others. Through a proprietary method the surveys were administered by Quantum Market Research who specializes in measuring workplace satisfaction. “What makes the ‘Best Places to Work’ awards unique is that winners are determined strictly based on the collective feedback of employees – not the subjective opinion of a group of experts,” said Greg Harris, president, Quantum Market Research.
Server Technology offers it’s employee’s outstanding benefits with low cost and high quality medical, dental and vision insurance. Other employee programs include tuition reimbursement, 401k with company matching, company paid disability insurance and an employee appreciation program.

The benefits of employee satisfaction apply not just to a company but extends to the community as well, said Gail Conkey, director of business retention and expansion for the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN).
“Economic development is so closely tied to work force,” Conkey said. “The more employee-focused our local companies are, the more it attracts highly skilled workers to our area, which in turn attracts other companies as well.”
The nomination process was open to all companies in the Greater Reno-Tahoe region. Nominated companies were sent confidential online surveys to be completed and returned on deadline with a certain percentage of employee participation required.
EDAWN was one of the sponsors of the event, along with the Reno Gazette-Journal and the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association.
